My name is Anna Smith, a 29-year-old journalist and new mum, who loves chocolate, cake and second helpings of chocolate and cake.
At the end of 2012, along with a fiance and a dimwitted tabby cat, I left the bright lights of Manchester for The Country.
Until early 2015 I lived in Kendal, on the edge of the Lake District National Park, and wrote for the weekly newspaper, The Westmorland Gazette.
Now, I still have the cat and I’ve gained a husband and baby daughter, and we’re all back in Manchester to be nearer family while I’m on maternity leave. I’m still writing for the Gazette and this blog will feature my weekly column, as well as my general thoughts as I navigate life in the unfamiliar world of new mummy-hood.
Feel free to laugh with (or at) me, and leave your comments on my ramblings.
